In today's ultra-competitive publishing arena, you simply can't afford not to have your manuscript in the best shape possible. Whereas a "book doctor" promises to try to help with imagery, characterization, plotting, and other ethereal elements that can't be measured or quantified, and who might or might not be of any use to you whatsoever, a good structural editor can always improve your work in the areas where publishers' editors reject submissions more often than for any other reason—grammar, spelling, punctuation, and other nuts-'n-bolts of professional-grade writing.
Unlike some others, I'm a full-service contractor who can edit in any format...if you're using WordPerfect, no problem...Star Office, piece of cake...whatever your platform, you can send your file as-is, no conversion necessary. If it's a word processor, I have it.
And I never forget what most for-hire editors and book doctors don't seem to understand in the first place: that I work for you.
My rate: $110.00 flat fee for up to 60,000 words. Longer works by
agreement.
Turnaround: Usually 7-9 days.
Payment: Certified check or money order. Half at onset, half on
completion.
